Focused Manufacturing Review

The Process

  • Depending on the nature of the review, it may involve a visit to your company, be conducted off-site or involve a combination of both.
  • Takes up to 8 hours to complete
  • Carried out by one of our approved manufacturing specialists who has the expertise to address the specific research issue.
  • There are many ways in which the Focussed Manufacturing Review can be used.  Examples of how MAS clients have used it in the past include:
        • Examining the potential to reduce waste and energy costs
        • Identifying what is needed to allow existing thread rolling machines to roll tougher and harder alloys
        • Identifying the material components and specifications of a dual layer foam/fabric compound skin composite
        • Assessing the potential for diverting the wood waste produced during manufacture to power a heat/power installation
        • Evaluating the refrigeration distribution system with a view to reducing losses and improving system efficiency
        • Identifying if it is feasible to measure the thickness of the anodised layer on a component. 
        • Assessing the feasibility of punching square holes in polycarbonate mouldings.

 

  • A full written report is provided to you when the review is complete.

 

Cost

100% funded by MAS (at a cost of £600 per day excl. VAT).
